What?

Atlantic Bridge’s Summer USA takes Bridgebuilders Clubs to experience a part of the American life, which most people don’t see. The focus is not on the beauty of the American landscape or famous cities and landmarks, but on it’s people, their families, about the way they live and think, about what they believe.

Where?

Our focus is usually on one of three regions:
Northeast: Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York State, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Virginia, Washington DC.
Southeast: Georgia and North and South Carolina.
Midwest: Minnesota Nebraska, Dakota, Colorado and Wyoming.
The trip goes to eighter of these, depending on the interest of the group.

Who?

The Summer USA is part of the Bridgebuilders Cycle. You need to be a member of a Bridgebuilders Club to take part in this exchange. A Bridgebuilders Club  starts in the autumn or sometimes a year before the exchange takes place.
In general, it is for youth in the age of 15 to 18.

When?

Summer USA trips take place for 2 or 3 weeks in summer (mid June till end of August), but a different time is possible (if your school agrees).

Summer USA
GO DEEPER!

Every Summer USA visit is different as a trip is made to fit the make up and interests of each particular Bridgebuilders club, but several factors stay the same.
You will stay in guest homes (sometime as many as four different guest homes).
You will experience different aspects of the American culture and lifestyle .
You will discover different landscapes in a larger region and at least two cities.
You will meet American youth and take part in their family and youth group activities.
You will have a two day retreat to evaluate, relax and to spend some time just with your group.
You will take part in a service project to understand the needs in American society today
All the above experiences are part of the discovery of the Christian roots and worldview of Americans. You will see that especially through the different expressions in different churches and faith traditions.

Summer USA is an exachange...
