We were all looking forward to the advance planning meeting that started on Friday, 25 May. Youth leaders and organizers from the five participating countries came together for the first time to share ideas, to learn about the program, about Bergen op Zoom, and to brainstorm about the Heritage Games.

Europe Week Promotion

On Sunday 20 May we joined Volkan Tasdan and Michiel Zandbergen from the Boogie Down – Urban Dans School. As they had and open day, free for everybody to join, they prepared a day with free dancing lessons, performances and promotions. They were generous to let us promote and spread the word about the Europe Week events.

The saying that “the arts may be the most powerful way to effect change, whether political, social or personal” could be one of the most important “bricks” that we have to consider when we are trying to discover our common heritage.

Dancing is one of the most powerful tool that we all have for communication. The artistic expression is such a powerful instrument that can break down every wall of indifference, intolerance or prejudice, and it is the only language that can break every communication barrier.
