Favorite ScriptureI Corinthians 15: 13-14.
If the dead can't be brought back to life, then Christ hasn't come back to life. If Christ hasn't come back to life, our message has no meaning and your faith also has no meaning.
What would be left of the Christian faith if you take away the resurrection of Christ?
Dawning of the Day watch the video
Last night (and this morning!), in the village of Kapelle, an all night activity took place called the Night of the Watch. About fifty young people (among them an American youth group from Ringwood NJ) stayed up all night waiting and watching for the sun to come up over a very special day which we have called EASTER. At five different times through the night half hour services took place in the different churches in town ending with an open air fellowship as the sun came up.
The dawning of this day has been the crux of Christendom for so many centuries. Because of the resurrection of Christ, there is hope; because of His mercy and love, we can start again after we fall, get up again after we sleep. There is a new dawning awaiting.
I thought of the 40 years that has come between that special summer of 71 and today's the experience in Kapelle. You just never know what God is going to do, but if we offer our lives to Him, in fellowship with each other, we can be sure our lives will have purpose and bear fruit with an eternal perspective.
