Leopold from Germany - intern 2017

I am Leopold, a 19 year old guy from Germany. Even though I came from the big city Hamburg, I find myself living in the small village Kruiningen now, and i must admit it has it's virtues! Once you get to know the place you find your way to enjoy it – I'm often at the dike enjoying the view of sunsets and ships. I came here in January after finishing my high school last year to do a gap year full of uncomparable experiences while discovering a new culture. And this is exactly what happened: although my dutch isn't the best I now know pretty much about the dutch people, their culture and can count on many interesting/funny moments.

What I like about working with Atlantic Bridge is bringing these different young people together and see their excitement. It is also nice being able to go to schools and share Atlantic Bridges values and the mission with younger people. Once we even had the opportunity to present our personal background and our religious/spiritual thoughts to some classes. I really like the conversations about these topics, no matter if it is in a classroom or in the Vierslag with other Volunteers or even pastors. Atlantic Bridge provides a good platform to discover, deepen or even question your spiritual side.
