Sándor from Hungary - intern 2017

My name is Sándor and I come from Hungary, where I lived in the capital, Budapest for the last couple of years. After I graduated from the university with a degree in Economics in my pocket, I decided to do something completely different: I came here to the Netherlands to do youth work, which was never a part of my life.

Does it sound something unusual? It does, but let me explain why I think it makes sense. Firstly working with Atlantic Bridge means that I am constantly exposed to new situations I would probably never have experienced.

I would probably never lived together one year long with three other interns from different countries and I would have missed the opportunity to get to know their cultures and their beliefs.

Secondly this year gives me the unique opportunity to influence others, sharing with them what I believe in and helping them on their way. And while doing this I feel I am getting to know even myself much better.

Even though I will be staying here for just a few more months, I think that this year will have been one of the most valuable experiences of my life.
